"Boone"

A Typical Topsfield Companion Pet

Pictured left are photos of the first year of "Boone's" life as a companion pet with his new family.  Boone is typical of the many companion pets that Topsfield has placed in loving homes.

Companion pets in the form of puppies, young adults, and more mature individuals who have been retired from the show ring or breeding program are sometimes available to good homes.

What Age Basset is Right for My Family?

Puppies

There is no doubt that puppies are cute, but they do require a lot of time and attention in their first months in a new home.  The puppies in the slideshow left were photographed between the ages of six to eight weeks of age.  Topsfield puppies generally are not available until they are close to twelve weeks of age, and sometimes much later.

Young Adults and More Mature Bassets

For many families, young adults or more mature individuals may be a good choice.  They are further along in their training, and generally settle into their new homes with ease.
